What's Happening with Sandy?

Hurricane Irene visits me

  • This is the side of my house at 5pm - just before the strong winds came later that night. The water came up to the brick foundation of the house. Look to the right and you will barely see the top of the green-topped yellow fire hydrant at the street corner.
  • The day after Irene - you'll see a big tree limb leaning on the fence that encloses our mews street at the back of the house. It knocked the fence down, but we propped it up temporarily.
  • The tree limb about to be chopped up by my neighbor David King (left) and my husband Stefaan.
